Copeland Oaks, a Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Sebring Ohio, has immediate openings for part time Diet Aides to work in their Food Service Department.  Candidates must be available to work varied hours and varied schedules.

The Diet Aide performs a wide variety of food service functions within the Food Service Department.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Essential Functions:            

  • Perform daily assignments associated with assigned work station area.
  • Handle food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe manner.
  • Report any discrepancies in his/her area to supervisor.
  • Deliver and retrieve food carts to and from dining areas.
  • Set up trays for meals/works tray line position and set up tray line.
  • Process soiled trays, dishes and utensils from carts through dishwasher.
  • Return clean items to appropriate places.
  • Control use of soap and cleaning agents in dishwasher.
  • Return clean items to appropriate places.
  • Assist in the serving of food on the tray line.
  • Wash pots, pans, and other equipment as necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation through entire work area.
  • Perform daily or scheduled cleaning duties, scrub mop floors, and clean/sanitize equipment.
  • Empty trash regularly.
  • Stock food and paper goods in stock room and other areas per product storage guidelines.
  • Inventory, prepare stock orders, reviews and accepts deliveries from vendors.
  • Maintain daily recording of refrigeration/freezer and food temperatures.
  • Prepare and label nourishments according to facility procedures and delivers to appropriate areas.
  • Notify correct person of diet changes and/or admissions per phone notification from Crandall.
  • Set up and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to residents and guests in dining rooms throughout facility.
  • Clear tables and resets for next meal throughout the facility.
  • Set up, serve, and clean up after catered events throughout the facility.
  • Call residents who have not come to dining room as a security check.
  • Take and prepare food orders for residents, visitors, co-workers in Lakeview Terrace and Bistro.
  • Maintains cash register drawer and follows proper cash procedures.
  • Assist with compliance of Enhanced Dining program.
  • Assist in training new staff members.
  • Correct dating protocol used on all food and beverage items.
  • Wrap silverware for meal services.
  • Stock kitchenettes and kitchens throughout the facility.
  • Prepare and serve beverages for meal services including thickened consistencies.
  • Transport items to all areas of meal service including adaptive equipment.
  • Prepare trays for meals by calling correct diet consistencies for residents according to meal ticket, spreadsheet, and/or approved food item list.
  • Prepare items needed for meal service including supplements, trays, fruits, yogurts, breakfast tubs, and high calorie-pudding.
  • Prepare foods on grill in kitchen and other equipment in Lakeview Terrace
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.


This position requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, pushing/pulling and squating. Candidates must be able to read, write, and follow directions. Prior food service experience prefered but not required.
